How I met my man…

We met through mutual friends! For the first three years, we were just friends. But it all changed and we became a couple!

Then, he proposed…

It had just turned New Year’s day and suddenly he proposed to me! Only our cat witnessed it, it was just the two of us!

We got married on July 2nd, at the church of Evangelistria,  in Fellos, on the island of Andros!

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

Making it all happen by ourselves was both the best and worst decision that we took! We obviously enjoyed every moment of the preparations and had everything our way, but the price we paid was that it got tiring at times!

Of course, we had valuable help from Michalis’ sister (who also made the wedding bouquet, as I mentioned before), our friends, our best man and woman, as well as our parents! It became a very intimate affair!

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

Enjoy this precious day and don’t worry about anything that doesn’t affect the essence of the wedding!

The Magic lies in the details!

The wedding style was simple, as close to the nature of an island in the Cyclades as possible!

The wedding flowers came from the island of Andros that were in bloom during that season! For more flower details, you should contact my exquisite florist, Irene Gardelis who beautifully decorated the church. As for my bridal bouquet, it was purple! My sister-in-law composed it for me, using osier & lavender which she collected on the wedding day!

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

Definitely, the moment I got to the church, accompanied by my parents, girlfriends, and relatives! Needless to say, it happened the traditional way, with the orchestral accompaniment of island folk songs, performed by the well-known island musicians, George & Stavros.

Generally, the decoration was minimalistic, based on our island wedding style, which we wanted to reflect! The combination of driftwood with gauze in the color of sand and the flowers that I mentioned above! There were a lot more subtle details which may not have been noticed by many, but meant a lot to us!

The reception took place at our home, so the main decoration was our garden, the flowers and trees, as well as our beautiful panoramic view of the island! There were also small lights all around the place that gave a romantic sensation to the decoration!

 Oh, my wedding dress!

I had done my research on the internet, and from what I had seen, I decided to visit Atelier Zolotas and only one more bridal house! But as soon as I saw the wedding collection in Atelier Zolotas, I knew that there was nothing else for me, so I decided not to visit any other place! Within 2-3 days, I  decided that this was the bridal house where my wedding dress would be created. It was the easiest decision I made during the whole preparation period!

My Atelier Zolotas experience was amazing! Everyone was helpful and patient! My wedding consultant, Melina, helped me with everything I had in mind!

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…
