How I met my man

We come from neighboring villages of Laconia, near Monemvasia. Ever since we were kids, we used to spend our summers together and all our holidays there. Eventually, we came closer.

Then, he proposed…

We had already been together for four years when Panos decided to go to America to continue with his studies. Technically there wasn’t an official marriage proposal, as he was trying to convince me to make a new beginning in America ever since he came back to Greece. I, on the other hand, wanted to do things in the right order. In other words, talk about the next reasonable step after his return. I soon came to realize that in life, your plans might be overturned… and I saw things more clearly, having our common future together as my main concern. But when it came to our marriage, I wanted to share those moments with friends and family!

Magic lies in the details

We got married in Panagia the Mirtidiotissa, in Daimonia, Laconia. The colors of the wedding were mainly white, pink and a touch of red. As for my bouquet, we were inspired by photos that we liked!

I was lucky enough to work with an extremely tasteful decorator who helped me throughout the whole preparation period!

I loved the wedding bouquet and the wedding candles. Also, the dreamcatchers that were made in crochet (my mother took care of those), the tablecloth in crochet on the bridal table and the board with our names on the entrance!

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

The best decision, other than the choice of my wedding gown, which I will mention more extensively below, was the reception venue what combined a nice atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service!

The worst decision during the preparation was that we never took the time to plan the photoshoot properly, and since we had run out of time, we didn’t make the most of it. The next day photoshoot was also affected! The photographer came from far away but there was no other option… even though we hadn’t gotten any sleep for the last three days!

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

Meeting him at the church with the accompaniment of traditional musical instruments.

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

To be decisive on what she wants and know what she likes!

Oh, my wedding dress!

It was my dream dress! I came across it while browsing the internet. I was looking for something traditional but contemporary at the same time! It surpassed my expectations! It combines the old with the new so gorgeously! The fabrics were of great quality, its style was timeless and particularly distinctive!

As for the Atelier, I was left with the best impression. Not even in my wildest dreams could I imagine that just a month before the wedding, I would have a wedding dress that fitted me perfectly, tailored exclusively for me… after only one fitting! I would also like to mention the staff, who were sincere, knowledgeable and exceptionally tasteful.

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…
