How I met my man

We met during the last year of our studies, in a small bar in Patras called Opal. Pavlos played music there at that time and I was out for a drink with a friend from the university.

Then, he proposed…

He proposed to me on my birthday, which is on the 19th of June. I had just returned from a long day at work, late in the afternoon, so I believed that we wouldn’t do anything do anything special, as Pavlos was working late that day. Suddenly he came home as if he wanted to get something, and while I was sitting on the couch, he handed me a rose, as a birthday surprise. I kissed him, and he insisted on my smelling it, when he kneeled!

When I looked at the rose more carefully, I noticed a diamond ring! I couldn’t help but burst into tears, but when we asked me in English “Would you be my wife?”, it got me laughing! Then I continued crying but I managed to answer yes with another kiss!

We got married at the church of Saint Anna in Korinthos during the winter, on the 17th of December.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

It was a funny one… I was getting ready for my wedding, when the boyhood friend of the groom, Giorgos, who was also our driver during the wedding, called me and told me that the small bridge of Poseidonia in the Korinthos isthmus, which we were supposed to cross in order to get to the church was closed for the next one hour. I was already 20 minutes late! As our hotel was in Loutraki, his fake news freaked me out! It was the ideal time to play a prank on a bride, but we still laugh when we tell this story!

Magic lies in the details

The wedding theme was vintage, in the shades of beige and white, with delicate details of lace and lavender.

The floral arrangement and my bridal bouquet consisted of hydrangeas, lavenders, lysianthus and pine!

The decorative highlights were the different heights of the candlesticks as centerpieces, and also the small cages with hidden lighting! If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

Don’t worry about perfection… just simply live every moment of it!

The best wedding decision I ever made…

I thing that our decisions about the reception venue and its decoration were the best ones!

Oh, my wedding dress!

As soon as I saw a photo of it, I had already set my mind on it, even before I tried it on. Through my participation in a contest by Atelier Zolotas I got to know the Hellenic Vintage collection. This way the meaning of uniqueness, simplicity and elegance became a synonym with it!

From my first visit to Atelier Zolotas, I picked out the one I wanted! From Theodora’s welcoming to Sara’s rehearsal assistance, I felt a sense of familiarity as if I knew them for a long time! We eventually found out that me and Theodora had mutual friends and had also studied at the same place, which confirmed my impression!

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…
