How I met my man

We met at a beach bar-restaurant, on my birthday (29/06/2008) in Thessaloniki. I had invited all my friends to celebrate and he was out for drinks with his. I never believed in love at first sight but that’s exactly what happened between us. I turned around and noticed him staring at me and… that was it. He and his friends joined us and we got to know each other in no time! After having spent 8 wonderful years of being together, we ended up with a fairytale wedding and a beautiful family! Our son was born in June 2015.

Then, he proposed…

It was Christmas 2014, with our families gathered together at my parent’s home. Suddenly, in front of everyone, Naoum kneeled, kissed my swollen tummy (as I was pregnant) and offered me a beautiful ring, asking me if I wanted to marry him. Everyone was deeply moved and more than anyone, myself! We got married at Saint Athanasios church, in Palaiokastro, Thessaloniki on 19/6.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

There are more than one! I will mention at least two. The first one was when I arrived at the church, having my men (my son along with my husband) waiting for me! Each one of them handed me a bouquet and I could not hold back my tears! It was an unforgettable moment!

The second one was our first dance during the reception, to the sound of our favorite song! We kept saying to each other that we feel as if there was no one else around, as if it was just the two of us in the room. It felt magical, it was our moment! We would love to re-live the whole night!

Magic lies in the details

The wedding style was vintage! Cotton lace was the main feature of the wedding, as well as my wedding gown. The palette was in shades of ivory.

I particularly like the candlesticks, with small candles instead of large ones, decorated with a rich flower arrangement. The vintage cart-style table in the churchyard with fresh lemon juice and treats!

The choice of wedding flowers was white peonies and white lilac (not blossomed). I loved the following wedding details…

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

The best: Our decision to keep the wedding as intimate as possible! We only invited our closest friends and relatives. We did not want our wedding to serve as a public relations event for both our parents and ourselves… It proved to be a huge success, especially during the reception, which seemed more like a party for young people (most of them were our friends) that lasted until the early hours of the next morning! We danced all night long and everyone had a fantastic time!

The worst: Not one, thank God!

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

If she and her husband take every wedding decision, there will be no regrets in the end! Keep the preparations stress-free. Although we only had 4 months to organize the wedding, we knew precisely what we wanted and that showed! No exaggerations, just chic and simple!

Oh, my wedding dress!

I had trouble finding my dress. Whichever bridal boutique I visited, I kept seeing white dresses with the same classic lace. I could never imagine myself wearing something so ordinary. A friend of mine suggested that I should definitely visit Atelier Zolotas, and so I did.

After that, I found my dress the very first time I visited the Atelier. The most flattering comments were made by men, who told me how original, beautiful and chic my dress was -instead of the classic overstated tulle gowns, which make a bride disappear in them). Generally, everyone had to say that it suited me perfectly. It was me, and nothing else was good enough!

I was completely satisfied by Atelier Zolotas. Within two months we had 4 rehearsals and as simple as that, I had my dream dress! Everything was delivered on time. I had a perfect understanding with the wedding consultants and seamstresses, who helped me choose the dress and tailored it to the last detail.. I would highly recommend it to any bride-to-be… Best choice ever!

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…
