How I met my man

I met this Italian man through mutual friends! After becoming a couple, we decided to live together… He proposed two years later!

Then, he proposed…

It was Sunday afternoon, and we had planned to attend the opening of a gallery, owned by a very close friend of ours, for a very long time.

When we got to the gallery, I realized that the exhibition seemed very familiar… Looking more closely, I realized it was a personal photo exhibition of our life together, with our most beautiful moments framed!

The exhibition extended to the second floor of the gallery, where, in a very romantic atmosphere, Marco proposed!

Oh, my wedding dress!

The moment I saw the collection of Atelier Zolotas on their official website, I knew one of those wedding dresses would be mine! During my first visit, I tried several gowns on and up to the last minute, I wasn’t absolutely sure, until I cast my eyes on the dress of my dreams. It expressed my personality, my taste and the character of the wedding I wanted to have. Organic fabrics like cotton, woven into beautiful laces and embroidery in crochet that decorated the dress! Trims that added movement and the details we included, perfectly complemented the style we wanted to express.

I only have the best to say about the experience that I had and my impression of the Atelier Zolotas team. They were highly professional and very friendly at the same time. From the very beginning, they gave you a feeling of familiarity, in a beautiful environment that I always anticipated visiting!

We had an exceptional collaboration with the designer, VG Zolotas, down to the last detail. I was particularly impressed when he came all the way to Milan, in order to bring me a lace sample of my dress. I really appreciated this gesture!

Our way of a wedding

We decided to have a civil wedding on the exterior of a magnificent place that we both fell in love with, from the first moment we set eyes on it.

On the 20th of August, we got married at the Chatzigaki manor, in Pertouli, Tricala.

The wedding style was country vintage chic. The landscape was very powerful by itself and we wanted to keep it unspoiled as much as we could. We highlighted the colors of the surrounding environment, just by adding shades of pomegranate.

Magic lies in the details

With the invaluable ideas of Fleurs, we chose flowers of the meadow, like chamomile, astradia, crania and eucalyptus leaves, and David Austin roses, for the decoration, as well as my wedding bouquet! The basic element of the decoration was pomegranate, which, for sentimental reasons, was the symbol of our wedding.

I will never forget the handmade wedding favors that our mothers meticulously made for us, nor the small wooden crates on the guests’ tables that my father made by hand, which our guests kept as a keepsake. Another nice touch was the named seating arrangement… Marco is a wine lover so the idea of giving each table the name of a wine was very original! Our guests had so much fun looking for their seats among the wine bottles!

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

The best decision we took was to organize our wedding by ourselves. It was a bit tiring, but it was definitely worth it! Because of my profession, it would be hard for me to trust anyone else! The pleasure that comes from preparing something personally for yourself, is beyond words. There wouldn’t be a worst decision as much as a difficulty that we had to face, and that was to have the wedding in Greece. Living abroad and planning the wedding from a distance, got hard at times!

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

My favorite moment may sound cliché, but it was the moment I faced my husband-to-be, before the ceremony. The smile on his face, the tension and the excitement in his eyes, will always remain on my mind.

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

My advice for a bride-to-be is to enjoy the wedding preparations and, along with her partner, do exactly what they both desire!

Oh, and always have a plan B in mind! Setbacks always happen… so it’s better to be prepared for them!

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…
