How I met my man
We used to hang out with the same crowd for quite some time! I could feel something in the air from the beginning, which finally prevailed!
Then, he proposed…
It happened in the summertime, under the moonlight, while on vacation! We eventually got married in the church of Saint Georgios, in Palaiochori, Vilia.
Magic lies in the details
There were a lot of rustic elements, like tree trunks, as well as bohemian and vintage touches! The colour palette was mainly in earth tones, such as grey, beige and natural wood.
As for the decoration, we went with wild plants one can find in the Greek nature, such as wheat, rosemary, lavender and white peonies!
I really loved the handmade tray made of wood, as well as a precious heirloom from my grandmother. I also liked the gauze fabric, combined with the lanterns, which we used to beautifully decorate the exterior area of the chapel, as well as the “wish box” and the tree trunks, decorating the reception tables of our guests!
The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!
The fact that we added a lot of DIY features to our decoration, coupled with the fact that we organized everything ourselves, were both the best and worst decisions we could have made! By that I mean that, while it made us really happy to create our own decoration, it turned out to be rather exhausting!
If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…
Don’t listen to anyone else when it comes to your wedding! Don’t fall into the trap of trying to please everyone else, but make all the choices that represent you! This day belongs to you and your husband alone!
To the rhythm of our first dance!
It was a mix of two songs actually. The first one came from a movie we liked, called “An” (What if), by Dimitra Galani and a Rihanna cover of Stay by 30 seconds to mars!
If I had to choose one favorite moment!
I have two! The first one was when I arrived at the church and saw my husband and our child, waiting for me to turn up! The other was when my husband sang to me, during our wedding reception!
Oh, my wedding dress!
It was exactly how I wanted it to be! My impression of Atelier Zolotas was amazing! The designer, VG Zolotas helped me combine my wedding dress with the right shoes, while the seamstress of my handmade dress artistically adjusted it to fit me perfectly!
