Wedding in Kalypso Estate

How I met my man…

We met at work and, after a long time, we started to talk more privately!

Then, he proposed…

We were on vacation in Rome and, when we visited Villa Borghese, we decided to go for a boat ride on the pond inside the park. That’s where Napoleon proposed.

We got married on September 16th, in the chapel of Saint Catherine, located inside the Kalypso Estate in Avlona, Athens.

The magic lies in the details!

Our wedding was boho, and the colors we chose were ivory with lavender accents. My bouquet was made of gypsophila, lavender, and alyssum.

My favorite details were the dreamcatchers on the candles, the wooden picture frame, the moustache-and-lips props on the bridal table, the water jars, and the candles on the guests’ tables. They were all handmade creations.

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

The best decision was that I started searching and organizing our wedding early, so in the last days we were relaxed.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

My favorite moment was doing something different from the usual slow “blues” for our first dance, so our family and friends joined us on the dance floor and danced with us. We chose “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” from Dirty Dancing.

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

I would tell her to stay relaxed, start planning early, and have fun!

Oh, my wedding dress!

It was the most special and outstanding wedding gown! It was the “Phillys” dress from the Hellenic Vintage collection.
My experience at Atelier Zolotas was perfect. We had a great collaboration, the ambiance was wonderful, and the craftsmanship was amazing!
