How I met my man…

We met at a gallery six years ago where I was participating in an artists group exhibition. Michalis approached me supposedly wanting to know about my art. A few days later we started dating and have been together ever since.

Then, he proposed…

Last year on my birthday I woke up from our doggy Frida jumping on the bed for her usual morning hugs and kisses. As I’m waking up, I notice something shiny hanging on her collar and start hearing the song of our first dance from the next room. Then Michalis entered the room and “bent the knee” holding Frida instead of just the ring.

We got married at the beginning of June, in the chapel of Timiou Prodromou, at Limassol.

The magic lies in the details!

The main style was boho with rustic elements and multiple colors. Basically every shade of red, pink and green, yellow, peach, ivory.

The wedding party was at my parent’s house and the above elements bonded nicely and complimented the outdoors garden.

I honestly loved everything. We have a very artistic circle of family and friends, so we did many things by ourselves: the main part of the decoration, wedding favors, designing the invitations, installing the lighting and many more.

Hosting the wedding in my own garden wasn’t the easiest decision since we did a lot of work, but the final result was totally worth it. Everything was different and unique, reflecting our personalities and all the guests loved the familiar and romantic atmosphere.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

My favorite part was walking down the isle and see Michalis waiting for me. We both teared up and felt an overwhelming feeling of love and happiness, like everything in our lives was building up for this moment.

Also, a very touching moment was the dance with my dad. No one knew which song he chose (except from him and the dj) and when the “I loved her first” started to play, it brought most of the party in tears.

To the rhythm of our first dance!

We chose “Sweet child o’ mine “, by Guns N’ Roses for the entrance and “Can’t help falling in love“, by Elvis Presley for our first dance.

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

On that day, try to stay focused at all times. It’s a big day where a lot of things happen in just a few hours so let every moment sink in and enjoy it, focusing on your partner. After all, this day is for you two.

Oh, my wedding dress!

I don’t really like wedding dresses, they all just look the same to me. But that wasn’t the case with Atelier Zolotas. Viewing the dresses I was stunned by how original and unique is their work. Every dress is like a different work of art and I started to worry that I wasn’t going to be able to choose one! But as soon as I entered the trunk show, I saw my dress hanging sideways on a rail and at that moment I knew that that was the one. Wearing it just felt different, and I ended up choosing the first dress that I put on haha.

Everyone I met from the Atelier Zolotas team is super great and professional, making you feel like you’re family, that you’re the most special bride in the world. Thanks to them, choosing the dress was one of the most beautiful experiences of my wedding.
