Nikoleta & Michalis
Wedding in Limassol, Cyprus
How I met my man…
We met at a gallery six years ago, where I was participating in a group exhibition. Michalis approached me, supposedly wanting to know more about my art. A few days later we started dating, and we’ve been together ever since.

Then, he proposed…
Last year on my birthday, I woke up to our dog Frida jumping on the bed for her usual morning hugs and kisses. As I was waking up, I noticed something shiny hanging from her collar and started hearing the song of our first dance playing from the next room. Then Michalis came in and got down on one knee, holding Frida instead of just the ring.
We got married at the beginning of June, in the chapel of Timiou Prodromou in Limassol.

The magic lies in the details!
The main style was boho with rustic elements and lots of color: every shade of red, pink, green, yellow, peach and ivory.
The wedding party took place at my parents’ house, and all these elements worked beautifully and complemented the outdoor garden.
I honestly loved everything. We have a very artistic circle of family and friends, so we did many things ourselves: most of the decoration, the wedding favors, designing the invitations, installing the lighting and much more.
Hosting the wedding in my own garden wasn’t the easiest decision since it meant a lot of work, but the final result was totally worth it. Everything felt different and unique, reflecting our personalities, and all the guests loved the familiar and romantic atmosphere.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!
My favorite part was walking down the aisle and seeing Michalis waiting for me. We both teared up and felt an overwhelming sense of love and happiness, like everything in our lives had been building up to this moment.
Another very touching moment was the dance with my dad. No one knew which song he had chosen (except for him and the DJ), and when “I Loved Her First” started to play, it brought most of the party to tears.

To the rhythm of our first dance!
We chose “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses for our entrance, and “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley for our first dance.

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…
On that day, try to stay focused and present. It’s a big day where a lot happens in just a few hours, so let every moment sink in and enjoy it, keeping your attention on your partner. After all, this day is about the two of you.

Oh, my wedding dress!
I don’t really like wedding dresses, they all just look the same to me. But that wasn’t the case with Atelier Zolotas. When I saw the dresses, I was stunned by how original and unique their work is. Every dress is like a different work of art, and I actually started to worry that I wouldn’t be able to choose just one!
But as soon as I entered the trunk show, I saw my dress hanging sideways on a rail, and in that moment I knew it was the one. Wearing it just felt different, and I ended up choosing the first dress I tried on, haha.
Everyone I met from the Atelier Zolotas team was incredibly kind and professional, making you feel like family, like you’re the most special bride in the world. Thanks to them, choosing the dress was one of the most beautiful experiences of my wedding.
